The world renowned,  two time GRAMMY winning artist, Isaiah “Ikey” Owens, hailing from Long Beach, CA  may have been most known for putting his inimitable style on keys to tracks for the Mars Volta and Jack White, but his deep roots are in the underground and indie music scene spanning across work with over ninety artists in the US alone (Long Beach Dub Allstars, Dave Sitek, El-P, Prefuse 73, Saul Williams, Mastodon, El-P, Crystal Antlers, Kelis, Free Moral Agents, Rubedo and many more)  and as a solo artist in his own right. 
 
Before Owens’ untimely death from heart failure at 39-yrs old while on tour for Jack White in Mexico, Ikey finished a complete solo album. The album was shrouded in mystery as various versions of the album had been floating around between various musicians and friends. After digging through archives of emails and files, the definitive track listing was revealed and the album was slated for release however unforeseen challenges between artists involved in the project complicated its delay for nearly 10 years. 
 
Now, on the 10 year anniversary of Isaiah “Ikey” Owens passing, his self titled album is ready for official release this November 29th, just two days before what would have been his 50th birthday, on Unit E Records; a label founded by friends of Ikey.
